I use google images and put photos on the smartboard in the morning for students as a writing prompt for their weekly writing assignment. I also use photos in powerpoint presentations when I am frontloading information especially in classes such as science and social studies. I use photos when teaching vocabulary so students can again make connections. Use photos of my students in the beginning of the year and end of the year for autobiographical poetry and other writing so they can compare the growth they made in a year's time.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"13368175","dateCreated":"1248874603","smartDate":"Jul 29, 2009","userCreated":{"username":"barbthomas","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/barbthomas","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/bcsd-passport.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/13368175"},"dateDigested":1532174188,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Photos in the classroom","description":"Third Grade--Barb Thomas
\n
\nI have always used photos but I have gotten some better uses of these ideas.
\nIn the past I have used photographs for story starters--I was thinking of having students take pictures and have classmates make up stories from them.
\nI also like the idea of putting student pictures on their work when posting instead of their names.
\nI did a power point for this year's back to school night and I am going to take pictures during it to use in next year's presentation so the parents can see actual events and not just read about them.
\nMy room moms in the past have made me scrap books of the parties. And since I have gotten into scrapbooking I am thinking of having the students do one for their parents for an x-mas present.
\nThere are endless ideas and things to do tomake our classrooms come to life with technology.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]}],"more":false},"comments":[]},"http":{"code":200,"status":"OK"},"redirectUrl":null,"javascript":null,"notices":{"warning":[],"error":[],"info":[],"success":[]}}
